All new folders will open in their own dedicated Finder windows. Opening new folders works exactly like it does in current versions of OS X. To move forward through your tabs use the keyboard shortcut Control + Tab, to move in the reverse direction, use the Control + Shift + Tab command, instead. But, as you can with Safari, you can move between tabs using keyboard shortcuts. Moving between tabs can be done in a variety of ways, the easiest of which is to simply click the tab you want to view. TLDR if it doesn't work anymore thats it, if it still works then its just a matter of time until it won't. Apple is not likely to replace the deprecated Api's nor provide access to the underlying multitouch technology so that's the end of the line for MagicPrefs and similar software. MagicPrefs is more than 5 years old now and is no longer mantained, the functionality it provided was made possible by Api's that are now deprecated and reverse engineered private Apple frameworks.
